ALL RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE

READ THE RULES VERY CAREFULLY. ALL RULES WILL BE STRICLTY ENFORCED. THOSE WHO DO NOT FOLLOW THE RULES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RUN.

DRIVERS REGULATIONS

VIOLATIONS OF THE FOLLOWING RULES WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND FORFEITURE OF ALL ENTRY FEES AND WINNINGS!

NO ILLEGAL DRUGS OR ALCOHOL WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE EVENT GROUNDS.

Absolutely NO person will be allowed on the event grounds under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol.

All drivers must be 18 years of age or older, and show a valid drivers license.

NO inspection until entry fees are paid. NO refunds after inspection starts. Cars will be secured in heat rows after passing inspection and no additional contact with the car will be permitted until your heat is called.

Shirt and jeans are required. No cutoffs. Protective eye wear is recommended.

Drivers only must attend driver's meeting prior to the event.

RACING REGULATIONS

1.      The car and driver qualifies. No substitutions without prior approval of the event officials.

2.      All drivers must complete an aggressive hit on alternating competitors within 60 seconds. No sandbagging or team driving.

3.     Any car that has two (2) fires per heat will be disqualified from that heat. They will be allowed sixty (60) seconds to restart their car after a fire. Officials will determine safety before car is allowed to continue.

4.     Any car that rolls over will be allowed sixty (60) seconds to restart after it has been put back on it's wheels. Officials will determine safety before car is allowed to continue.

5.      No hitting the driver's door.

6.      No blocking with the driver's door.

7.      All drivers and pitmen must understand and sign the RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT.

8.      Drivers must remain in the car with seat belt and helmet secured during their heat unless asked to exit by the officials.

9.      No one EXCEPT the event officials and current heat drivers will be allowed on the track at anytime. If you or anyone connected with your car are on the track, you will be disqualified.

10.      All drivers will be held responsible for the actions of anyone connected to them or their vehicles.

11.       All cars must be removed from the event grounds by 12:00 p.m. of the day following the event.

12.       All protests must be made by the driver only and will require a $200.00 cash fee. The fee will be refunded ONLY IF you win the protest. If you lose the protest, the Douglas County Fair Board keeps the fee.

13.       No more than three (3) inspections will be allowed to enter the event.

14.       ALL VEHICLES ARE SUBJECT TO RE-INSPECTION AT ANY TIME.

15.      ALL entry fees must be paid and the vehicle in the inspection line by 6:00 p.m. This includes all re-inspections. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED IN LINE AFTER 6:00 P.M. NO EXCEPTIONS! YOU SNOOZE, YOU LOOSE!!

CAR BUILDING RULES AND REGULATIONS

Full Size CAR Rules

NO: JEEPS, TRUCKS, (RANCHEROS, EL CAMINOS, CONSIDERED TRUCKS), CONVERTIBLES, IMPERIALS, IMPERIAL SUB-FRAMERS, CARRYALLS, HEARSE, LIMOS, ALL WHEEL DRIVE UNLESS MADE INTO TWO WHEEL DRIVE.

Preparation: NO SWAPPING FRONT STUB-FRAMES ON FRESH CARS


1.      IF IT IS NOT STATED IN THESE RULES, DON'T DO IT OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE EVENT!

2.       All glass, plastic and pop metal must be removed. All inner panels must be removed. Noting may remain in the bottom of the doors or trunks. All outside hardware must be removed (door handles, mirrors, chrome, molding, screws, fiberglass, etc.).

3.       No added weight to the car. No packing the frames, trunks, doors, body, or under floor decking.

4.       No added or relocating metal anywhere on the car unless stated in these rules.

5.      Front seat must be securely mounted to the floor and must have set belts.

6.       Any flammable materials inside the car must be removed except safety padding and seat.

7.       WATER ONLY. No anti-freeze or other cooling additive allowed or you will be DISQUALIFIED FROM THE EVENT.

8.       One 6" max O.D. pipe or tube mounted between the doorposts behind the driver's seat may be used. An 8" x 8" plate must be welded to each end of the pipe or tube. One 6" max O.D. pipe may be put in the front between the door posts where the dashboard was located. These must be welded around the plate only, no bolting them in place is allowed. You may weld one 6" max O.D. connecting pipe or tube on the inside of the front driver door and one 6" max O.D. pipe or tube no less than 6" from the inside of the front passenger door from front pipe or tube to rear pipe or tubes for safety. They CAN NOT be connected to the frame.

9.       On non-full post cars only: You may have larger plate welded to the end of the rear cross pipe or tube only. It may not exceed 10" x 10".

10.       You may add a 5” max O.D. halo bar over the roof of the car. Halo bar must be attached to rear seat bar. If no seat bar is used, then halo bar may be attached to the floor sheet metal. Halo bars must be in direct vertical line with the seat bar position. Halo bars may not be angled towards rear of car. You may bolt the halo bar to roof of car with 3 bolts only. Plates welded to halo bar to attach roof may not exceed 3” out from bar. This will be enforced.

11.       No added supports from the cross pipes or tubes to the floor pan or door posts. No kickers.

12.       Hood must open or be removed for inspection of engine compartment.

13.       No profanatory language, symbols, gestures or politically incorrect statements on the vehicle.

14.       Car number and driver's name must be 15" tall and painted on driver's door and roof in contrasting color.

15.       Any vehicle leaking fluids will be subject to disqualification for that heat.


Steering:

1.       Tie rods and steering arms can be altered.

2.       Steering column shaft can be altered.

Brakes:

1.       All cars must exhibit the ability to stop before entering the arena. If a vehicle looses it braking ability it will be subject to disqualification.

Securing:

1.       A combination of four methods of securing the hood, doors, trunk lid, cut outs and tailgates will be allowed.

2.       See each section on proper rules for bolting, chaining, #9 wire, cabling and welding.

3.       Only two of the following: bolting, chaining, #9 wire, cabling or welding can be used to secure your trunk lid, doors and cutouts.

4.       Only two of the following: bolting, chaining, #9 wire or cabling can be used t secure your hood.

5.       Trimmed fenders, hood openings, folding the trunk lid to the trunk floor are considered cutouts.

6.       Station wagon tailgates are considered the same as trunk lids.

Bolting:

1.      Screws will be considered the same as bolts.

2.       All bolts can not be larger than 3/8" and use 1" O.C. washers EXCEPT 6 hood bolts and 2 trunk lid bolts.

3.       No bolts may go through or around or touch the frame or uni-body EXCEPT body bolts, two hood bolts, and two trunk lid bolts.

4.       Two trunk lid and 6 hood bolts may not exceed 3/4" in diameter.

5.       Washers or plates may not exceed 4" in diameter on trunk lid, and body bolts and 6" diameter for hood.

6.      Hood may be bolted with no more than 6 bolts not to go through frame EXCEPT the 2 core support bolts which can go through to the bottom of the frame.

7.       Trunk lid may be bolted with no more than 8 bolts. Two 3/4" bolts may go through to the bottom of the frame.

8.       No more than 8 bolts per cutout.

9.       No adding bolts to any body support seams.

10.       Body bolts must go through to the top of the frame only.

Chains, #9 Wire, Cables:

1.      Chain must be 3/8" or smaller.

2.       #9 wire can not be more than 4 strands twisted together.

3.       Cable must be 3/8" or smaller.

4.       Chain, #9 wire or cable may be used with 2 chains or 2 bundles of #9 wire or 2 cables per seam.

Welding:

1.       ABSOLUTELY NO WELDING on the vehicle anywhere unless stated in these rules or you will be subject to disqualification with NO REFUND.

2.       The inner seam between the door posts and floor pan may be welded. NO plates or filler.

3.       All exterior seams may be welded using the weld 4" skip 4" rule. No welding of interior seams.

4.       Driver's door may be welded solid.

5.       A body seam runs from one corner to another and is not continuous.

6.       Only 4" x 2" or less rolled steel or 4" x 4" x 1/4" plates may be used for seam welding.
Must be weld 4" skip 4" spacing.

7.       The largest gap that you may fill is 2".

8.      No stacking of filler in any seams or gap.

9.       Front frame seams may be welded from A-arms forward, top and bottom with no added metal.

10.       Welding of the cut outs is allowed using the weld 4" skip 4" rule.

11.       No boxing in the C channel.

12.       No plating the Y's on Mopar.

Engines and Rear Ends:

1.       Any engine and transmission combination may be used in any car but must be mounted within 4" of the original mount and must be mounted securely.

2.       Motor mounts may be welded: transmission and motors may be chained.

3.       You may use any type of car rear end as long as it has no more than standard 5-stud pattern axles.

4.       Two chains, cables or #9 wire may be attached to the rear end and attached to the body or around the frame. They must be loose to allow suspension to work.

Battery:

1.       Any automotive battery legal (2 maximum) or one D-8 style cat battery.

2.       Battery or batteries must be securely mounted on passenger floorboard and will be covered with a non-conductive material.

Air Cleaners and Starting Fluid:

1.       You must have an air cleaner on the car at all times during the event.

2.       No starting fluid will be allowed inside the car.

Tires:

1.       Tires must be 16" or smaller.

2.       You may use inner tubes, screw tire to the rim, or glue a tire inside of a tire.

3.       No foreign material (water, foam, concrete, etc.) inside of the tires.

4.       Tires must be inflated with air only.

5.       You may weld on valve stem protectors.

6.      NO paddle, tractor lug, forklift, skid loader, agricultural, homemade, or studded tires, or recaps.

Suspension:

1.       No solid suspension.

2.       No means other than tires may be used to raise the car height.

3.       No adding reinforcement to the suspension.

4.       No putting leaf springs on top of the axle.

5.       No coil to leaf or leaf to coil spring conversions.

6.       No welding or duct taping of springs will be allowed unless stated in these rules.

7.       You may weld coil springs to the rear end so they do not fall out. No filler may be used.

8.       No adding bolts in the top of coil springs through the car body.

9.       You may not clamp the shocks.

10.      Leaf spring cars must have OEM factory lef springs with factory stagger for that model and year of vehicle.

11.       No more than 9 leaf springs per side.

12.       No more than 4 clamps per side.

13.       No truck springs allowed.

14.       No air shocks or spring spacers may be used.

15.       Trailing arms may be lengthened or shortened.

16.      Leaf spring hangers must be OEM factory for that model and year of the car and cannot be reinforced.

17.       Suspension must work.

18.       Coil springs must be OEM factory for that model and year of car.

Transmission Coolers:

1.      Transmission coolers will be allowed.

2.       Coolers must be secured in back seat area.

3.       Metal, steel braided or high-pressure lines and fittings must be used. No fuel, air hose or hose clamps can be used.

4.       Fans on coolers are permitted.

5.       Overall, officials will determine safety at time of inspection.

Doors and Windows:

1.       All EXTERIOR door seams must use ONE of the following for securing: weld, chain, cable or #9 wire.

2.       If using chain or #9 wire or cable, none may go thru or around the frame and only in two places per seam.

3.      A protective bar may be placed on the driver's exterior door. It cannot extend more than 6" past the driver's door seams on either side.

4.       You can have #9 wire or cable or chain in tow separate places per opening of side windows only.

5.       A maximum of 2 bars running from the outside top of roof down to the cowl centered on the front window is mandatory.

6.       No straps or plates across side window openings.

7.       No bars from the roof to the trunk area.

8.       No wire, cable, metal or chain in the rear window.

Radiators & Radiator Supports:

1.      Radiators must stay in the stock position. No added water capacity.

2.       Heater cores must be removed and heater core hose ports on the engine block plugged.

3.       Lower radiator support body mount bushings may be removed.

4.       NO reinforcement of radiator, radiator support, condenser, condenser support or their mounts.

5.       NO home made or non-factory production made radiators.

6.       NO electric fans.

Frame and Body:

1.      If patching holes on the body you must use the same thickness of sheet metal as original body sheet metal. Patching for safety not reinforcement.

2.       Holes left in the firewall from removing the dash, heater, clearance for engine must be covered with sheet metal to prevent fire hazards.

3.       Replaced body bolts can not be longer than 6".

4.       Replaced body bolts must be redone just like factory, top of frame through body only.

5.       No extra body bolts will be allowed.

6.       There must be a minimum of a 1" spacer between body and frame.

7.       No foreign material in the body.

8.       No painting or undercoating may be used underneath the car, especially the frame, or automatic disqualification with NO REFUND.

9.       No foreign material inside the frame. Notching frame is allowed.

10.       All frame openings must remain open for inspection.

11.       Broken, rusted through, bent frames may be repaired. The repair metal must be the same thickness as the original frame metal and no more than 1" past either side of the repair site. All damage and repairs will be determined by the officials.

12.      No more than two plates per repair site OR 4 plates per frame rail. Plates can not be longer than 6" x 6" and no butting plates together.

13.       No plates on the top or bottom of the frame.

14.      The event officials must be able to see the damages areas. Do not cover the damages areas.

15.       No bolts, chains, cable, pins, clamps, #9 wire may be in contact with the frame unless stated in these rules.

16.      Hood must remain in factory location and have at least one 12" opening for fire control.

17.       Trailer hitches and framework must be removed.

18.       All car bodies must be on an OEM stock car frame.

19.       ABSOLUTELY NO MODIFICATION TO THE FRAME UNLESS STATED IN THESE RULES OR AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION!

20.       Sedagons and trunk wedging are allowed. NO added metal. If you make a sedagon or wedge the trunk you MUST have one 6" opening on both sides of the trunk or one 12" opening in the center of the trunk lid.

21.       NO #9 wire, cable or chain from the floor pan to the roof. Window openings only.

22.       ALL BODIES AND FRAMES ARE SUBJECT TO BE DRILLED AT RANDOM.

Bumpers:

1.       Must be stock OEM car bumpers. No truck bumpers. No added metal inside bumper.

2.       Bumpers may be cut or folded so they do not smash into the tires during the event. You must have a minimum of a 2” diameter hole in each end of the bumper for inspection.

3.      Front and rear bumpers may be chained in two or less places and attached to frame to hold bumper on.

4.       Bumpers may be flipped, trimmed or folded and may weld fold together. The 4" x 4" welding rule applies. All factory openings and holes on bumper must remain open.

5.      Front and rear bumpers may be welded to brackets and brackets to frame. Must be OEM factory brackets. NO added metal from bumper to frame.

6.       Compression bumpers may be drained, slid back into the shock and welded fully with no other material added.

7.      No chrome may be welded to the body or frame.

8.       Two chains from front bumper to hood are allowed. These chains can not go around, through, or touch the frame.

9.       You may use on the rear bumper 1" x 1/4" x 18" flat strap welded from the body to the chrome of the bumper. No more than 2 of these may be used on the rear bumper only.

10.      If you do not use metal straps on the rear bumper, you may use 2 chains to go around the frame.

11.       No swapping shock bumper towers back to front or front to back.

Fuel Pumps & Fuel Tanks:

1.       Electric fuel pumps are allowed. Must have separate switch within driver=s reach and be labeled clearly.

2.       Steel line with flare fittings are recommended or approved rubber fuel line with two hose clamps on each end.

3.       No pressurized fuel vessel systems.

4.       Fuel tank must be metal.

5.       Six gallons of fuel max. No extra fuel storage containers in the vehicle allowed.

6.       Fuel tank must have a fire retardant cover.

7.       Gas tank must be bolted down behind driver=s seat.

8.       Original gas tank must be removed from car.

9.       Fuel lines must be protected and run through a hole 2 times larger than the fuel line when routed through the firewall.

Compact Rules: No mini vans:

1.       Any car 105" or less. Any truck 106" or less.

2.       All wheel drive vehicles must be made into two-wheel drive vehicles.

3.       Suspension: No more than 5 leaf springs and 2 clamps per side. Must be OEM factory stagger for compacts.

4.       Cab on pickup must be secured to frame and may be welded with plates to the bed.

5.       Fuel tanks and transmission coolers must be secured inside the front of the picup bed.

6.      Compact truck bodies must be on an OEM stock compact truck frame.

7.       Tailgates on compact trucks will be treated the same as trunk lids.

8.       All full car size rules apply EXCEPT those listed in the Compact rules section.

9.       V-8 engines are allowed.

10.       Electric fans on radiators will be allowed.

11.      Must have compact vehicle springs. No full size springs cut down to fit. Must be O.E.M. factory stagger for compacts.

1980 and Newer Car Rules:

1.       Any 1980 or newer car may be used.

2.       Steering and suspension CAN NOT be altered from O.E.M. factory

3.       Frames must stay in stock location. No re-arching of front frames.

4.       No sedagons. No wedging.

5.       ALL BODIES AND FRAMES ARE SUBJECT TO BE DRILLED AT RANDOM.

6.      All full size rules apply EXCEPT those listed in the 1980 and newer rules section.
